Robben Island, located in South Africa, in the Western Cape region was in the year 1999 declared a World Heritage by United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It is located 6km from Bloubergstrand in Table Bay. It stands at 30 meters above sea level. Robben Island is known as a former colonial prison and a place where people were banished robben island, isolated and exiled for around 400 years. It was also utilized as a grazing ground, an outpost, a mental office, and a post office.
